Northwest Lammas Festival 2023
We are excited to welcome everyone back for another Lammas Festival!
Lammas is the first harvest festival of the year and is celebrated by much feasting on all things made of grain. It is also a time of much merry-making as the first grains of the season are collected from the fields.
We’ll start out Friday evening with a land blessing, the lovely Giving is doing the women’s ritual in the evening, and we'll be holding Embracing Darkness afterwards. This year for Lammas 2024 our main ritual ‘Stardiving with the Ancestors’ is being put together by Chele. It will be a little different this year as we will be having our bread and beer feast before the ritual. We will have crafts and workshops for everyone to participate in. And what would Lammas be without the games? The games will consist of martial skills with ax throwing and archery, strength skills with the stone put, track skills with the Turtle Island sprint and River Farm run and more. There will also be the building of the Bread Goddess, lounging in the river, sauna, and maybe some drumming.
